Known Issues

You must have Windows Installer 2.0 and Microsoft XML Parser 4.0 Service Pack 1 installed on your system or you will get an error message when you load the template. Please install these in the following order:

1. Windows Installer 2.0

Windows XP includes Windows installer 2.0 so no need to install

Windows 95, 98 & ME. Download

Windows NT and Windows 2000. Download

2. Microsoft XML Parser 4.0 Service Pack 1. Download

Installation Instructions

  1. Save the LDS Word Template in your Microsoft Word Startup folder.
  2. Save the Libronix_Link.gif in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AutomatingX\

Where is my Microsoft Word Starup folder ?

To identify where your Microsoft Word starup folder is located:

  1. Open Microsoft Word
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the File Locations tab.
  3. In the File types box, click Startup.
  4. Click Modify.
  5. Note the location of the Startup folder in the Folder Name box.
  6. Click Cancel, the Close to ensure you don't make any changes to your system.

Can I save the file Libronix_Link.gif in a different location ?

At this point in time the Libronix_Link.gif file must be saved in the location C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AutomatingX\
If you do not save it in this location an error will occur when you use the double hyperlink macro.

What does this security warning mean ?

The word macro templates include a self-signed digital certificate that I have create using the create digital certificate tool that comes with Office 2000 Professional. Hence you will get this warning because it is not an 'officially certified' digital certificate from a third party certification authority. Please ignore this message (all it means is I haven't paid a third party for a certified digital certificate), tick the box Always trust macros from this source and click Enable Macros.

If you do not follow these steps you will not be able to access the tools in the template. I have include a self-signed digital certificate with the template in order to overcome the following problem that can occur in Word 2000 and XP.

Why do I get the error message "macro cannot be found or your security settings are too high" ?

Prior to the LDLS Word Template including a self signed digital certifcate, if your security level for Microsoft Word was set to High, the macros in the template were disabled. If you are using an older version of the template you can the enable macros by changing the security level to Medium, closing Word, and then re-opening Word. To change your Microsoft Word security level:

  1. Open Microsoft Word
  2. On the Tools menu click Macro, and the click Security . . .
  3. On the Security Level Tab, select Medium then click OK.
  4. Re-start Microsoft Word.
