Walkthrough

[ Page One | Page Two | Page Three ]

After the 14th battle, go to the cave on the east coast. Talk to the Old Man, who will decide to show you a tunnel leading back to Grans. (you must talk to the Old Man a few times! Don't stop until he decides to go with you!!)

Re-board the raft and go west. Go to the cave/ruins nearby Ribble.

Enter this ruins area. The Old Man will open the door. Go inside.

Ancient Ruins (15th Battle)

Try as he might, the Old Man won't be able to open the door. Check the ruins - make sure you don't leave without the wooden panel. Return to Ribble. Go to that huge tree. Use the 'A' button ('C' won't work this time) to use the Wooden Panel on the tree. Go into the ruins and there you shall find the Achilles Sword. Search the town - there's a Mithril there. After you've finished, go south from Ribble to Hassan. Hassan is a port town. You will find your path blocked by the Kraken monster.

Use your flyers to kill the head or bait the head closer to your other fighters.

The Kraken (16th Battle)

After the battle, proceed into Hassan. Go into the two-story house left of the dock entrance; that should be Rohde's house. Go upstairs and talk to Rohde. (he should be at his study.) If you have the Achilles Sword, he'll go with you to the Taros Shrine to get the Caravan. Otherwise, he's not interested. Before you leave, re-equip.

If you are stuck on getting the Achilles Sword, Rohde, or the Caravan, click here for more detailled instructions on getting them.

Outside Hassan (17th Battle)

From the battle, go west; the Taros Shrine should be in the trees. Taros can only be killed by the Achilles Sword, which only the leader can wield. Use the other characters as healers - keep them out of Taros' reach! Their attacks won't do any damage to Taros.

Taros Shrine (18th Battle)

Getting the Caravan

After the battle, you will get the Caravan. If you don't know what it is, the Caravan is a vehicle in which you can store spare items and fighters who are taking a rest. I normally store all my mithrils in there.

If you want to get Rick, the Knight, I would recommend going back to Hassan. He's at the very top of the town. Talk to him and he'll join. There's also another store-keeper with better weapons.

After you're done, go north and travel west on the rocky river. When the river forks north, you will see a cave. Stop by it. One of the dwarves is sick and is in need of help. He asks for the fairy. First, exit the cave.

Outside Cave (19th Battle)

On your way west, stop by the Elven Village, in the discolored portion of the trees. (click for my secret villages page) Here, you should find the Vigor Ball (behind the houses in a chest) and the Secret Book (large building, 2nd story in the bookshelf). You can promote your characters now, or you may promote them at a level greater than 20. If you promote them after level 20, they'll be stronger.

To get the fairy, go far west to the pond. Oddler should hear someone crying for help - Elric, the Archer. You will go to help him automatically.

Pond (20th Battle)

Exit the pond and head directly north. Go into the opening in the trees. This tunnel leads to Creed's Mansion, where the fairy is. Exit the tunnel and Creed's guards will attempt to stop you.

Outside Mansion (21st Battle)

Enter Creed's Mansion. Go directly up to the door. Goliath, the servant, and Creed should be talking. Listen to their conversation. When Goliath tries to stop you from talking to Creed, go to the door on the left. You'll be instantly miniaturized. Make sure you've wrapped up everything (shopping) before this point!! You won't be able to go back to leave Creed's Mansion for a while. Goliath will drop you on the Desktop Kingdom. Explore the kingdom then talk to the king. He will agree to help you if you beat him at a game of chess.

Chess (22nd Battle)

Once you've defeated the army, the king will give you the cotton balloons to go to Floor World. Collect the cotton balls (they will appear in the center of the chessboard). Go to the farthest right corner where the guy is standing on the pen. Talk to him; he should let you pass. Stand on the edge of the pen and select "Item" and "Use." Use the cotton balloons. You will float down to the Floor World. Once on Floor World, you cannot go back to the Desktop Kingdowm!

Explore Floor World before leaving it through the hole in the right-hand corner. You should enter a rat tunnel.

Rat Lair (23rd Battle)

The Exit
To exit Floor World, find the ramp in the lair. (this is not the way you entered)

Creed should start talking, then he will notice you and return you to normal size. Afterwards, Creed will go to Evil Spirit to find out what Zeon is cooking up. Follow Creed down the stairs to where Evil Spirit is. Zeon will see you through Evil Spirit's eyes. Listen to what he says, then Evil Spirit will explode.

Go back to Creed's library/study and talk to him and the fairy. The fairy will agree to go with you. Then head towards the entrance/exit of the mansion. Goliath tells you Creed will allow you to pick one of four characters from his Collection: Eric the Knight, Karna the Priest, Tyrin the Mage, and Randolf the Warrior. You can only take one along; to get all of them, come back after the 33rd battle (Moun). When you leave, Oddler won't go with you. (the reason will be revealed later)

Go back to the cave with the sick dwarf and you will get a cannon. Make sure your leader's hands are not full; the dwarf will only give the cannon to the leader. Now return to Granseal and talk to King Granseal and Sir Astral. You will be instructed to find the Ancient Storytellers of Tristan. Sir Astral will tag along. Talk to the boy who is standing next to the weapons shop; he'll give you the explosives. After you re-equip, go to North Cliff. (where you saved that guy after landing in Parmecia)

North Cliff 2 (24th Battle)

Rohde will blow up the rocks. As a matter of fact, Rohde likes that cannon so much he decides to join you.

If you forget the cannon, that's what Sir Astral kindly tells you. After clearing the rocks, enter the cave.

Cave (25th Battle)

The exit is located in the upper-right hand corner of the cave. Right after you exit the cave, you'll see a town. Enter it. This is the town of Ketto. Talk to the people and explore the town. Everyone in Ketto is scared of the devils.

If you need weapons, go to the house with the sign that says "No weapons or items sales. - Devils." Go behind the house and follow the pathway to a bridge where a man is standing. Talk to him; he's the shopkeeper. He'll run back to the same house and secretly sell you weapons.

Get your weapons and exit the town, heading away from the cave.

Outside Ketto (26th Battle)

Higgins will ask you to help him after the battle. Go north until you hit the sea, then go far east. Head northwest, using the small bridge to cross the patch of dirt. The city here is Pacalon. Enter the town and talk to the King. While you're in the castle, search for the Pegasus Wing. Make sure you re-equip. Exit Pacalon and head north of it.

Outside Pacalon I (27th Battle)

Once again, travel as north as possible. Head east to the bridge.

The Bridge (28th Battle)
