Last of the Brunnin G, Kai is, according to prophecy, the only hope of defeating "His Divine Shadow" and his evil empire of 20,000 planets. Kai was reanimated after being killed by "His Divine Shadow" to prove to his "Devine Predecessors" that the prophecy was wrong. As the ultimate punishment "His Devine Shadow" made Kai an assassin. Kai has served His Shadow well for 2008 years. Kais memories were returned to him after touching one of the Devine Predecessors. Kai will remain reanimated as long as his protoblood holds out. Kai conserves his protoblood by staying in his cryochamber when not needed by Stan or Zev.

Tried and convicted for "not performing her wifely duties, Zev was transformed into a beautiful love slave. During the transformation a cluster lizard entered the body transforming chamber. As a result Zev was genetically combined with the cluster lizard. Fortunately, Zev was able to escape before the brainwashing stage of the love slave transformation. Zev is the balls of the Lexx crew. Her lust for adventure (and sex) leads them all into numerous situations.

A victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, 790 was thrust under the brainwashing machine by Zev during her love slave transformation. After pledging his undying love to Zev, 790 proceeded to help Zev escape the cluster. He has since recited endless verses of extremely bad poetry with his love for Zev as the subject (as well as numerous witty insults toward Stan).

Permitted to live as a security guard, class 4, for possible future information, Stanley was the courier who carried the enzyme that grew the Lexx. The same enzyme was used in the destruction of 94 reform planets. Stanley is the holder of the biocoded key needed to command the Lexx. The previous carrier transferred the key to Stan as he was being eaten by a cluster lizard. Since Stan is the only person able to give commands to Lexx he is the captain. Stanley, being an amorous coward, always tries to follow the path that is either least likely to get him killed or most likely to get him laid.

The most powerful weapon of destruction in the two universes, Lexx is the pet project of "His Devine Shadow". Lexx can only be commanded by the holder of a biokey. Stanley Tweedle is the holder of that biokey. Lexx was grown on The Cluster from amino acids recovered from Stanley Tweedles tooth, and fed the organs of executed criminals. He was stolen by Stan and Zev with all of the "Divine Predecessors" aboard.

Zev saved Kai's ....uhh...existence (?) and turned into a blob of goo. Lyekka consumed the blob of goo then, as a favour to Stanley, recreated Zev as Xev. Still a sex slave, still part cluster lizard still completely unattracted to poor Stanley.
