Part Seventeen

Weeks past since their first "group" dream. In fact it was coming on to the third month of knowing Caela in a few days, and the Forth Of July was approaching as well. Buffy and Willow were out of school Caela was still in the process of convincing Buffy that she didn't need to go to school.

"Buffy, no offense to ya, but I know more than you when it comes to school." Caela was desperate, and since she had to use hard facts now that the boys' Pike and Angel, were decidedly, staying out of it.

Buffy shrugged with an "I don't know" smile on her face, meaning she had taken no offense to her fellow slayer's comment.

They all stopped in front of a specific grave. The dirt and grass were still semi loose from the funeral just the day before.

"Is this the vampyr site?" Caela gestured with little enthusiasm.

"Yep!" Buffy leaned against Angel who stood behind her. "That's out vamp." Her tone was happy, the two cups of coffee and a few JollyRanchers in her were beginning to take their effect.

"Aye..." Caela sighed her trademark Irish sigh and took a relaxing stand; legs spread and arms crossed. She seemed to be cranky, simply put, and seemed to have a "I don't give a damn" attitude.

The couple on her left were now kissing, making out was a more correct term for the amount of action and saliva being transferred between the two. Not to mention the lack of air.

Caela's attention was drawn to the two love birds' drama by the smacking of their lips separating. Her slight bitchiness had dissolved.

"Look at them!" Announcing to Orin with a big smile on her face. "Pogin' like there be no tomorrow." She giggled.

Orin shook his head at Caela's intervention and giggled with her.

Buffy and Angel separated from one another and smiled with the other two with reddened cheeks and settled for just holding on to one another. Buffy turned around and returned to her leaning position, where Angel wrapped his arms around her waist. Buffy took in a deep breath and covered his hands with hers and watched the grave.

Caela and Orin contained themselves and returned their gazes to the dirt and grass in front of them.

The ground began to shift near the heardstone and the slayers stepped up, away from the boys and continued to watch as they witnessed the first break on the soil by a skinny fingered hand.

"You want him? Or were you hoping for a less action filled night?" Buffy referred to herself wanting to just stake him the minute he emerged.

"Let me see the difference from the Gael and the American vampyrs." she raised a brow to Buffy and watched her nod as she stepped back and joined the guys on the sidelines.

"Let me know." Buffy gestured for Caela to do "her thing."

The whole of the vampire finally exited the hole and growled at Caela as he stood. He looked to the others and assumed the first righted, Buffy. "Slayer." He hissed.

"Me first, if ya please." Caela bowed her head slightly to add to her sarcasm, and watched him take the bait and stepped towards her.

When he came to a distance well known as "too close for comfort," Caela gave in a left hook, and rather excellent at that, but didn't meet with his face. Nor did it come in contact with any other part of him" He bent back and was able to dodge her well practiced throw of a punch.

Caela resorted in throwing a side kick to his left, hoping to catch him off guard.

She, and everyone else, aside from the vampire, was confused and surprised that he, being a new vampire, was able to escape her moves, twice in a row.

She stepped back a bit and gave a shocked look as he asked. "Done yet?"

Everyone looked to one another, their eyes wider now.

Buffy had had enough of this. It was scaring her that Caela may not be able to take this one down on her own. She advanced among the fight saying, "No more of this bullshit," under her breath.

As soon as she was close enough to pose a threat, the vampire gave a well stanced and well trained kick to her abdomen.

With the breath being knocked out of her, Buffy stumbled backwards and fell into Angel's arms, where she quickly lost consciousness. Angel brushed back her hair from her face and whispered her name. "Buffy."

Orin took this as a sort of cued responsibility to take over for Angel and Buffy and help Caela.

The vampire quickly pushed Caela on the chest, forcing her to land on her back near Buffy and Angel.

The tricky vampire sent straight from hell grabbed Orin's neck and laughed. A laugh hat seemed to echo in all four of eight ears and looked at the three on the ground, to Orin and then straight into Caela's eyes. Deeper in fact.

"You give up being my queen for this, for them." He looked at the other three in disgust. "The Buach." he cringed as he forced the words out.

Something took over Caela as she spoke, something that had been there all the while, but rarely emerged.

"De only way I could think of to vanquish ya." She gave a cocky smile.

"I do not wish to kill you, Gabrielle." He threw the boy on the side of the group. "But I will have no hesitations doing so." With that said he burst into flames and ash and crumbled to the grass, leaving the four, or three, counting Buffy's lack of consciousness, to watch in bewilderment.
