The heart of all practice
How do we practice, especially how do we deal with the endless barrage of negative people and negative actions we get simply walking down the street or riding the subway here in New York City?
Think good thoughts about others - strangers, our friends and enemies and ourselves. This is the most important thing. It is the most profound thing. It is the heart of all of the practices.
--Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche
Practice loving kindness towards all.
If you can help others, help them;
If you can't help others, at least don't harm them.
--His Holiness The Dalai Lama
The Meaning and the Blessing of the Lama.
"In order to get the blessing, several things are necessary. On the one hand,
one needs to develop full trust and complete devotion toward the lama.
However, this does not refer to just any lama. It refers to the one we have
chosen after having extensively checked several teachers. It refers to the
lama in whom we are sure we can develop complete trust..." - Jamgon Kongtrul
Yidam - The Source of All Blessings: Meditation and indentification with the deities in Tibetan Buddhism
"The reason that the yidams appear in manifold forms, for example peaceful and wrathful, is that the disciples have different
attitudes, views and aspirations. In order to meet these different wishes, there are different appearances of the yidams as an
expression of the compassion of the lama. The yidams also appear in so many different ways in order to symbolize that the
whole spectrum of our clinging to impure appearances is purified. " - Jamgon Kongtrul

Throughout my many lives and until this moment,
Whatever virtue I have accomplished,
Including the merit generated by this practice,
And all that I will ever attain,
This I offer
For the welfare of all sentient beings.
May sickness, war, famine and suffering
Be decreased for every being
While their wisdom and compassion increase
In this and in every future life.
May I clearly perceive all experiences
To be as insubstantial
As the dream fabric of the night,
And instantly awaken to perceive
The pure wisdom display
In the arising of every phenomenon.
May I quickly attain Enlightenment
In order to work ceaselessly
For the liberation of all sentient beings.

About the Guestbook!!!
Re: After Dr. Seuss's Bread and Butter Battle, or The Christians vs. The Pagans (which apparantly very much include the buddhist traditions).
I'd like to really thank those of you -- the Christian and Catholic Conversionists who are apparnatly concerned with saving my soul. Knowing your concerns come from love and compassion, I thank you for your blessings and kindness.
If your minds, and presumably, your hearts, are as open as you would wish one to believe (your guestbook messages are very nice), you may enjoy reading Living Buddha, Living Christ.
"EVERY FUNDAMENTALIST SHOULD READ THIS BOOK! This is the work of a man who knows both Buddha and Jesus. This work is extremely important and necessary."
And if buddhism earned the respect of the great Christian mystic Thomas Merton perhaps you too may find something beneficial in its practices and traditions.
love is love

And perhaps Mary is Tara
WHAT??? In
Longing for Darkness: Tara and the Black Madonna, China Galliard, explores this beautiful connection in her own personal spiritual search, leading from her own Catholic tradition, to the Tibetan buddhist traditions of Tara, mother of all the Buddhas, and Tara's (and Mary's) rich prayers and commitments to free all human kind of suffering, pain, sadness, and obstacles to highest love, joy, wisdom, and compassion
Thank you for visiting the site.
May we
and all living beings
have happiness and the causes of happiness,
and be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
