"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government
will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government
and peace there will be no end. He will reign of David's throne and over His
kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and
righteousness from that time on and forever the zeal of the Lord Almighty will
accomplish this." Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV
"It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of
Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, He
will send them a Savior and defender and He will rescue them." Isaiah 19:20 NIV
"In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazereth, a town in
Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a decendant
of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said
"Greeting, you who are highly favored ! The Lord is with you. Do not be afraid,
Mary for you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth
to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be
called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His
father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His Kingdom
will never end." Luke 1:26-38
"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be
taken of the entire Roman Empire. This was the first census that took place
while Cornelius was Governor of Syria. And everyone went to his own town to
register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth, to Bethlehem. He
went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was
expecting a child. While they were there the time came for the baby to be
born. She gave birth to her firstborn son, wrapped him in clothes. She placed
him in a manger, for there was no room for them in the Inn.
And there were Shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch
over their flock at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory
of the Lord shown around them, and they were terrified. Then the angel said to
them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for
all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is
Christ the Lord. This will be the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped
in cloths, lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying;
"Glory to God in the highest
And on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!"
When the angels had left and gone into Heaven, the Shephards said to one
another, Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened which the
Lord has told us about. So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the
baby, who was laying in a manger.
Luke 2:1-20 NIV
The star shone over the lowly manger, where Jesus lay... a tiny infant
in His mothers arms. Everyone was expecting a King.. but not a small, wee,
child born in a stable. Wise men followed the star to where Jesus lay and
worshipped Him with Gold, Frankensence, and Myrrh.
This is the season to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, for what He did for
the world. He came to the earth as a lowly man, died a convicts death, for you
and me! What a Lord and Savior He is. His love has shown from the very second
He came to us.
Jesus will be coming again someday soon, in the clouds, in full glory,
to claim His bride. Every eye shall see, every knee shall bow, every tongue
will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Praise be
to God the Father and to Jesus Christ, His only begotten son.
