Low Voltage, Door Ajar and Glideslope Capture Annunciator Lights

This small console incorporates the power switch for the DME box located to its right. The "select Nav 1" placard can be ignored as the selection is done on the instrument itself.

The "Door Ajar" white light will light if and when the main entrance door is open - or rather not (properly) shut.

The Red lamp to the extreme left is the "Low Voltage" Light which will flash red not, perversely, when "volts are low" but rather when the Alternator is offline - probably indicative of an Alternator Problem, if the trouble is not with the Regulator or the battery itself.

It will always show Flashing Red when the Master Switch is first turned on and the flashing can be cancelled by pressing the bulbholder, at which point the lamp should show a fixed red light. When the engines are started and the Alternators come on line, the red light should go out. It may flicker at low rpm but this may be ignored if subsequently when rpm is increased, it agan goes out.

It is a "push to test" lamp, and should be checked during pre-flight checks and in fact it can be re-tested at any time, by pressing the unit, when the lamp should show red until pressure is released.

The Green Light in the centre (currently with placard obscured) is the Glideslope Capture Annunciator light referred to in the instructions for Autopilot Operation
