In August 2002, I moved to San Diego and lived with Angela, my eldest daughter. In November 2004, I moved to Pacific Beach into a very small studio apartment. (I'm still around, as of July 2005) Barbara Jean Carrington was found at home late last night, collapsed over her computer keyboard while working on her family history website. Barbara, who grew up in El Cajon, recently returned to San Diego from the Pasadena area where she was active in community affairs. She was a volunteer with the Pasadena Arts Council, ushered at the Pasadena Playhouse, cooked for the homeless at the Union Station Foundation, and was a Girl Scout leader and day camp director, among many other activities. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Breniser Ricketts of Hemet, brother, Bruce Ricketts of Merced, and three children, Angela Carrington of San Diego, Danielle Baker of Long Beach, and Scott Baker of Hood River, Oregon. Memorial services will be held at Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 1 pm. Has anyone tried to write their own obituary? There really isn't much room to write everything is there?
