I will show you what I did with mine. Step 1 I'm providing an outline, to make it easier for you. ![]() Save it to your hard drive and then open it in Animation Shop. File > Export Frames > To Paint Shop Pro. Now you will have an outline with no background. Step 2 Zoom in so that it's easier to see. Use the magic wand to select the inside of the beaks and the perch and flood fill with black. ![]() Step 3 Use your paint brush (Size = 1, Hardness and Opacity = 100). Fill in the eye with black, painting a single pixel of white in the center. ![]() Step 4 Use the magic wand to select the inside of the area above the beak and flood fill with #FC7C40. Float the selection and apply a cutout: Vertical and Horizontal = 0, Opacity = 80, Blur = 3, Shadow color = #FF0000, Fill with interior color unchecked. ![]() Step 5 Use the magic wand to select the inside of the claws and flood fill with #FF7676. Float the selection and apply a cutout, changing blur to 2 and shadow color to #FD3131. ![]() Step 6 Use the magic wand to select the inside of the parrot's body and flood fill with #FDE583. Float the selection and apply a cutout, changing blur to 15 and shadow color to #FD8B11. Add noise at 5%, Uniform, and then de-select. ![]() Step 7 (Optional) I preferred the wings outlined in dark green, instead of black. Use the paint brush with #027602 if you want them dark green. ![]() Step 8 Use the magic wand to select inside the wings. You'll have to select some of the pixels individually in the end of the tail. Flood fill with #00FF00. If you missed any pixels, hold down the shift key and use your magic wand to select the pixel and then flood fill again. Float the selection and apply a cutout, changing blur to 8 and shadow color to #168204. De-select and save your new parrot! ![]() I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
