Kiotinath flicked her tail in the sapphire-blue waters of the Mountain Note weyrlake, splashing a few of the nearby male dragons with droplets of water. Even as a weyrling, the red dragoness was extremely flirtatious. Look at them all, Amontillado. None of them chose you whenever they had the chance to. I don't know why, because you were obviously the best Candidate out there. Ah, well, that means that you and I are now lifemates. Amontillado laughed softly, scratching Kiotinath's eyeridge. The tiny blue nubs on Kiotinath's forehead had grown into long, elegant blue horns. Her tailspade and claws were also blue, standing out very sharply from her red body. But she was beautiful- Amontillado wouldn't have her any other way. |

"Well, I'm glad that they didn't, Nath," the young woman said, sighing deeply. The red dragoness was around the size of a small bronze her age, or perhaps one of the larger weyrling browns that she'd see. There was no doubt that whenever Kiotinath rose, the flight was going to be long, and the clutch something special. Hmmm... Now, there, THAT's a fine dragon, Kiotinath said to Amontillado as she looked out at the frosted bronze Shempath. The young woman grinned softly. "Well, Nath, I couldn't agree with you more, but you must remember that if you want Shempath's attention, then you're going to have to contend with Bynnkyth, and I doubt that would be fun." Kiotinath snorted arrogantly. She's only a gold, Amontillado, while I am a red. And besides, I am much prettier than Bynnkyth, no? "To me, yes!" Amontillado reassured her dragon. "And that's all that matters. We have another full turn before we have to worry about any of this rising stuff that all of the older riders have to." But, truth to be told, Amontillado was already worrying about it. Flights |
