night until closing ceremonies after daybreak.

WHO’S
IN CHARGE?

Relay Chairman Darlene Lutz has
recruited a dynamic team of volunteers to oversee Relay, but the whole
community offers it’s time, talent and resources to personalize the
event!

WHAT
FOR?
|
To raise money for the American
Cancer Society, while celebrating the lives of those who have survived
cancer and honoring those who have lost the battle.
In 2001 we raised $123,000. for cancer research.

WHAT
CAN I DO?
|
Be a Team Captain! Volunteer to
recruit an 8 – 15 member team to get donations and take turns walking
the track all through the event; get a theme; set up camp!

IF I’M NOT ATHLETIC?

This relay doesn’t involve
wearing spandex or getting up speed!
There are no “Relay Police” and the only muscle we’re going
to work out is your heart! Can’t
Captain? Join someone else’s team!

WHAT
ELSE CAN I DO?
|

You, your business or organization can
be a sponsor by donating money or services, or by buying an ad in the
program book. We expect
well over a thousand people! |

You can sell and purchase Luminaria
bags for $5. each in honor or memory of loved ones, for the memorable
luminary ceremony. |
|
You
can invite a cancer survivor to walk our opening lap; honored guests
who will lead us into battle against cancer. |
|
You can donate a basket or prize for
the great Chinese Auction to be held at the Relay; share your creative
talent! |
|
You
can learn about the many services offered by the American Cancer
Society and spread the word!
|
