He was an amateur photographer and owned good Graf-Lex cameras, and he used oils to tint his photographs.

After his wife died in 1967, he moved in with his son, A. Glenn VOLZ and family, at 5004 Cleves Warsaw Pike.

He had many small strokes through the years and spent some time at Veteran's Hospital, Vine St. and Sem Villa in Fort Thomas, KY.

Very staunch Republican.

Used to "eat like a bird" but then when everyone was away at school and work order a cache of sweets to be delivered from the corner grocery to keep in his bedroom closet for snacking.

Loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds.

Closest to his sister Leona - she died while he was either overseas or in the sanatorium.
