In 1995, amateur astronomers from the Hapton astronomy Club got together to start a bilingual organisation that would bring together amateur astronomers from all across the province. The same year, NBANB (New Brunswick Astronomy / Astronomie Nouveau-Brunswick) was incorporated.
En 1995, des astronomes amateurs, membres du Hampton Astronomy Club, se sont regroupés pour mettre sur pied une organisation bilingue, à but non lucratif, qui regrouperait tous les clubs d'astronomes amateurs de la province. Cette même année, l'organisme a aussi été reconnue comme une corporation; soit la "New Brunswick Astronomy / Astronomie Nouveau-Brunswick inc." : NBANB.
Mission
The NBANB's mission is to promote greater education to the general public and youth of the province and to provide a unified voice for the amateur astronomy and fraternity among members and the general public.
La NBANB se donne comme mission de promouvoir la sensibilisation du grand public en ce qui concerne la science de l'astronomie, de se faire l'union entre les clubs d'astronomes amateurs de la province et d'organiser un weekend astronomique annuel.
Activities / Activités
Each year, members of NBANB have a Star Party : Astro Atlantik. It's a weekend full of activities pertaining to astronomy :

workshops
games
draws
and more importantly, lots of observation through different telescopes.
Chaque été, les membres de la NBANB organisent une fin de semaine d'astronomie : Astro Atlantik. Parmi les activités, on retrouve :
