The BFL has had 6 franchises retire since the league began back in 1997. While all these teams have left the league, their presence is still felt. Often times, many of these teams appear at BFL events and games. Most recently, on June 11, 2002 on BFL Alumni Day, the Celts, Koala, Melody were present and played in an alumni game. And on August 4, 2002, all five BFL alumni were at the game. They signed a giant BFL Banner which can now be seen at all BFL games. The Dragons have now returned to the BFL but are also listed as an alumni team too. Most recently, the Sea Raiders decided to hang up the cleats after an 0-2 record in 2004. And for the time being, the Produce are here in the alumni section while they sit out the 2005 BFL Season. But Chris vows to return in 2006 even better! |
