Hustlers Out for 2007 |

March 20, 2007- We already knew that we would be losing a great team in the Icebergs in 2007. We now know that the Hustlers will be joining Mark C. in sitting out the 2007 BFL Campaign. The official announcement came through Akil's long time rival, Mark K of the Gamblers.
Mark was quoted as asking the Comissoner, Ken, "Have you talked to Akil lately?" "He's not going to play this season becasue he's taking summer classes out in Pittsburgh at Carniege Mellon." Akil, who is now planning on wrapping up his degree will be spending the summer too far away from the Battlefield, to make it back for his games.
In two season's of play, Akil posted a record of 5-5, which included playoff appearanced in both games, and a double overtime loss in BFL Bowl VIII,(in his rookie season)
Ken has stated, "We will are losing a great team in the Hustlers for 2007. Akil was without a doubt a favorite to win BFL Bowl X. We will definity make room for Akil and Hustlers to come back in future seasons of the league."
Akil's departure from the 2007 season leaved the league with only 11 teams for 2007. Ken stated, "We will be announcing the twelveth for 2007 team very soon. We are looking at our options and have some interesting canidates to fill the spot." Ken did not state if the team will be an expansion team or a returning team from the leagues past. Ken clued in, "It won't be the Mustangs."
The 2007 BFL season begins on May 12 at 4pm with a game between the Sand Storm and Crusaders. |
