Caer Yslen ~ Dunes ~ Records ~ Residents ~ Isle |
Blinth shifted her eggs around in the warm glow of Yslen's dunes. With a joyous fluttering of wings, her red mate Vixth exited through the upper entrance to round up the bonders both humans and invited dragons. Koniltanth, Quarientoth, and Lieadoth, the Danachian visitors were the first he found, and they quickly made their way to the dunes, staying back, in case Blinth should change her mind. Eziseth was off like a shot once she caught a glimpse of the overjoyed red; she'd been the first asked to be present, and wouldn't miss the hatching for the world, even if she was alone when it was over. The human girls that were bonders, though strange they were, were tougher to locate. Sarinde had been swimming, and Jebet was all sweaty from a run, but Vixth didn't care. It was time for them to be elsewhere. The two moist girls were given a lift on his shoulders, and they zoomed into the dunes as the first egg expanded, and split. A mellow brown pushed his way out of his shell, and flapped his wings to dry them off. Blinth looked proud, as did Vixth. They twined tails as the little brown sprawled on the sand near them for a well-deserved rest. "What's your name, son?" Vixth asked warmly. "Kizanth." The little brown replied. A pair of green paws pushed away a healthy sized piece of shell. They waved freely in the air like some strange sea creature for a moment before withdrawing, and then the green pushed further, forcing the shell apart and herself into the world. She lost no time in moving across the sands. It's too hot in here, Sarinde. Let's get out of here!" The baby green protested. "My thoughts exactly, Santith." The Darkhouse bonder replied. A rather long egg flopped over onto it's side, shattering. A disoriented blue looked around, and then shaking it off, headed towards his choice. However, she wouldn't look at him, fearing rejection as before. "C'mon Quari..." he pleaded kindly. The dragoness looked at him, eyes misty. "Tseniarth... I..." "I love you Quarientoth." While that drama continued to unfold, a bronze dragon forced his way out of his shell, boldly determined, as fliers of his hue were thought to be. "I am Kragarth!" he roared, daring any to deny it. "Craggy, maybe." Eziseth retorted, and the bronze marched right up to her. "Say that again, you big.... beautiful thing you..." Eziseth chuckled, and they settled down together. A softly speckled egg cracked from top to bottom like a spike of lighting, and then a mellow cream dragon pushed her way up. Rearing back onto her hind legs, she flared her wings and roared almost as defiantly as her bronze brother had. She charged the bonders, and the only one for her was Jebet. "Whoa there, girl!" the girl said, and met the cream eye to eye. "My name is Tialnoth. But you can call me girl if you want to." The sixth egg and the seventh to hatch revealed a gold and a red. They looked each other dead in the eye. Would they bond? Would this be the second gold-red pairing at Yslen? Blinth and Vixth hoped, but it wasn't to be. They split apart angrily after a heartbeat. They were not to be consoled. The next egg revealed a livid purple dragoness, shining with newness, and quite large. Koniltanth's eyes were glued to her. "I am..." she began. "Jelikorth. I know." Koniltanth finished, smitten. The last egg burst open, a firey red dragon climbing out of the shards. His vivid hide stood in stark contrast to the snowy wonder he chose - He chose Lieadoth. "Me, Kelizath? After all I've been through?" "Of course. Like there is any other worthy?" Vixth and Blinth were happy, and herded the unbonded brown Kizanth, gold Altiath, and red Gikerth off to be fed, leaving the dunes to the next pairing, who were due to clutch any day.
