The Exciting World of Shortwave Radio!
Listening to Shortwave Radio is a very fascinating, interesting and rewarding hobby. A minimal investment will offer you many hours of enjoyment. Once you start receiving letters and other goodies from various radio stations you will become hooked. Where else can you keep up with world news and events, sports, international music, culture and language through a single medium available at your fingertips. As with any hobby, the more time you spend at it the better you get, and the same is true with shortwave listening. One can be a casual listener listening only to fairly high-power stations or chase DX from exotic, low-power, hard to hear stations. The choice is up to you. If you stumbled on this page and don't know anything about shortwave radio give it a try. I know you will enjoy it. The author and his brother have taught a class here in Houston through Leisure Learning Unlimited entitled "Shortwave Radio-Tune Into the World!" If you are interested in this class being presented to your club, church group, school, etc. I will be glad to give the presentation in order to spread the word about this little known but extremely enjoyable hobby. The class is about 3-4 hours.
