About the Author
Shaman King is the second comic that was written by Hiroyuki Takei. His first comic was Butsu Zone (Buddha Zone), which also appeared in Shonen Jump. Takei-sensei likes to draw comics that deal with spiritual world and religion.
F.Y.I Takei-sensei used to be an assistant of Watsuki Nobuhiko for Rurouni Kenshin.
What is Shaman anyway?
Just in case, you haven't read the comic nor understand the concept, shaman is a person who can borrow the power from spirits by let the spirit take over his/her body. There are many kinds of shaman, and each of them has different abilities.
So, what is Shaman King?
It is just another "great" shonen manga (boy's comic). Shaman King is about a boy with a shaman power, who wanted to become a king of shaman. It is an action comic mixes with comedy. If you like One Piece by Eiichiro Oda, you will like this comic, too.
