And Oh yes, it was funny. It had the requisite genetic laboratory where they are doing some experiments on little Fluffy the Cat. So, Fluffy gets pissed and starts taking people out. During his escape from what appears to be Alcatraz for Cats, there's a 3-minute cat-cam, which is just hilarious. Also, every time the cat sprints across the screen a piano plays this supposedly haunting riff. The cat also meows for about 10 seconds straight with its mouth closed. Basically, it performs wrestling moves like the Kitty Takedown and the Swiss Army Cat to mulch the guards at the complex and escape.
And if you were a genetically altered cat just escaped from the laboratory, where would you go? To the yacht of some wealthy mobsters, of course. Meanwhile, the mobsters hire the requisite chesty college girls (from the pre-Girls Gone Wild days, I'm sure) and their boyfriends as crew upon their yacht.
What follows is the hilarious hijinks that always occur when there are bad guys, chesty women, and mutant cats in an enclosed area. Brian described this movie as 'The Love Boat' but with mutant killer cats. Of course one of the college guys majors in biology and he's able to determine there's a mutant killer cat aboard. There's the requisite nudity, and you just know the couple are gonna get gnawed on by the poisonous cat (oh did I mention it's poisonous, too). So, Fluffy hunts down everyone on board. Suddenly a fearsome storm pops up and some members escape. You'll love the toy boat scene when the boat sinks! It's just classic. Oh and guess what? They allow for a sequel in the ending, but it hasn't been made yet. It must be waiting for the folks at Insanity Central to produce 'Strays 2' for another USA Pictures Original!

Now, to the ratings
- The music in this movie is actually pretty funny and good. It's definitely a more than tolerable 90 minutes.
- A few groaners dotted the script, but it wasn't terrible.
- The toy boat scene, cat-cam, the music, and just the fact there's a mutant killer cat on the loose make this movie pretty unintentionally funny.
- This was definitely one of the stranger genetically altered housepet movies I've ever seen - not that I've seen all that many...
Definitely an above average B Movie, with plenty of occasions where you'll have to rewind and laugh again.
