Durvaasa
Rishi's Shaap
This story is in
Vishnu Puraan, 1/2. Once Durvaasaa Rishi was coming back from Vaikunth. On the way he
met Raajaa Indra riding on his Airaavat. Considering him the Swaamee of Tri-Lok
he offered him a Maalaa (garland) as Bhagavaan's Prasaad, but Indra did not
respect it and threw it on the head of Airaavat. Airaavat took it off his head and
crushed it under his feet. Seeing the insult of Hari's Prasaad Durvaasaa Rishi gave
Shaap to Indra that "Soon you become poor along with losing Tri-Lok."
