"Kirsty", was
our very first pedigree German Shepherd. We showed her
in breed, did obedience and tracking. We had a lot of
fun with her, she was a great demonstration, heeling
dog, very quick and very clever .
I remember once in the Open obedience ring, throwing the
dumbbell and it bouncing back into the jump (we've all
been there). I thought she'd bomb out, but what did she
do, she went over the jump, picked up the dumbbell,
backed up and came back over the jump for full marks.
Trouble is, she bombed out coming in too fast, for the
drop on recall and dropped directly in front of me. In
those days we could complete all exercises and the way
she was going she would have headed for 199 points. Oh
well, "them's" the breaks.
Great dog, not the best looking in the world but we
loved her, she gave us many happy memories.

In 1974, I
used one of the first males imported into NSW, Tandina v
Etzal, a sable imported by John Cowdroy, from the UK ,
over Bhuachaille Echo and so began a new era for
Bhuachaille Kennels
Bhuachaille Pepper

4 years and
two generations later, Pepper, a very dark grey sable
was born. Pepper was a very dry bitch, with naturally,
very good colour and pigment and eyes so dark they were
fathomless.

In
1982, a young dog, by the name of Karlrach Kentucky Lad,
was beginning to make his mark in Australia. Using him
over the Ingo v Hafenlohrtal daughter, Pepper, gave me
my best producing line for temperament and continued
structural improvement, their names, Yvette, Yanos,
D'Aislyn

Full sister
to the above dog and bitch, born exactly 12 months to
the day apart.
Zelda, had 2
litters of 3 and 5 puppies, of which 4 were x-rayed and
obtained the "A" stamp and 3 Surveyed for Class 1.
Incorporating the blood lines of Condor Arminius and
Dina v Reststrauch, structure changed dramatically for
the better and retained excellent character.
Zelda
had a lovely
temperament and the most
beautiful dark eyes you could ever wish for.
