Love
At Times Square
The box-office failure of recently released 'Censor' has not
dampened Dev Anand's spirits and he's already moved on to his next
project 'Love At The Times Square' and started working on it. And by
the looks of it this time around Dev Anand finally may have a winner
on his hands. Rumors are that Dev has roped in none other than the
vagabond singer Lucky Ali to act in it. What’s more Lucky will also
be composing the music for the film. Henee Kaushik (a Dev Anand
discovery who made her debut in 'Censor') will once more get to play
the female lead while Dev is said to be contemplating on roping in
Fardeen Khan to play the second male lead. According to Dev Anand,
'Love At The Times Square', "is a strong subject" and Dev is already
said to have shot a few scenes for the film at the actual location
(Times Square, New York) at the turn of the millennium party on 31
December .“Although current interest issues always inspire me, I
chose a love story this time because I was charged by the idea. And
when ideas hit me, I get obsessed. Plus I prefer to write my own
stories and scripts. Also, I was in the Silicon Valley recently and
noted that India's big there! The Indo-American relationship is at
an all-time high. It is an Indian love story set around the Times
Square, New York. It starts on one New Year's Eve and ends the next.
There are two boys, one from India and the other from the US. The
girl is from America and I play her father. Heenee, my discovery in
Censor, plays the heroine. Lucky Ali will score the music for this
film. We've had some sittings. He's young, fresh and his music
sounds just right for this kind of subject. We will record three
songs in London in July. I actually have already shot the New Year's
Eve celebrations without finalizing the cast yet – as it forms a
vital part of my film! A million people were there. It was an
unforgettable ". Lucky says "I took up that film because I love the
man. He's an institution, enjoying himself and his zest for life is
a good thing to learn from him''.
