Wanda Maximoff is one of the only female heroes that Carol actually gets along with. During her initial stint as an Avenger, Wanda was a good friend and a constant source of support. When Carol unexpectedly found herself pregnant, it was Wanda who stood by her and held her hand through the entire ordeal. Wanda was the first Avenger to know Ms. Marvel's secret identity. When Carol lost her powers and memories to Rogue, the Scarlet Witch was among the former teammates who came to visit her at the X-Mansion during her recovery. It was then that Carol told the team what had really happened with Marcus. Carol expressed her anger and bitterness towards the Avengers' for failing to see through Marcus' manipulations and preventing her from going with him. Wanda was particularly affected by Carol's story and still feels remorse and responsibility for what happened.

During Carol's brief return to the Avengers as Warbird, she and Wanda renewed their friendship. Unfortunately, Wanda was too consumed with problems of her own to notice Carol's drinking and odd behavior. Wanda pleaded with Carol to get some help, but was unable to convince her to stay with the team following her court martial. As Carol left the Avengers for the second time, Wanda realized that the Avengers had failed Carol once again. Since then, Carol has overcome her alcoholism and returned to the team. However, a new challenge to Carol & Wanda's friendship could arise due to the Vision's recent interest in Warbird!
