I WISH I could remember whose page I nicked this sound of a wonderfully grunty Harley kicking into life

ALL I remember is that it was off some hairyassed biker's homepage and there was a vaguely threatening message about stealing the owner's work - eeek.

Well, if you recognise this sound as being your bike, then please accept my apologies because I forgot where I got it, and also please accept my thanks because it is one of the funkiest sounds I have lifted off ANY site in the net to date :) and I LOVE IT.

My heart's desire is to ride a bike again --- or even scrounge a few rides on --- beg steal or borrow --- and get my ass on a bike again, preferably a Harley (got my eye on a nice black 92 Sporty, if only I had the CASH)
but in the meantime I am accumulating some nice friends who own bikes at Longrider's place and at Virtual Biker. So check it out. Of course if you CAME from there, then "Hiya! Why havent you insulted me in my guestbook yet?"
