Here's a photo of my Granddaughter (Christina) helping out mowing.

She's using a tractor which tows a piece of equipment called a "Batwing" behind it to mow grass.

This particular Batwing is capable of mowing a thirty-foot (9 meter) swath of grass in a single pass.

This is Christina again, but now she's aboard a smaller tractor towing a "3-gang reel mower".

A reel mower is really just a hand mower, but instead of pushing it to propel the cutting blades, as a person would to mow the lawn, the tractor pulls it.

Although reel mowers are not much in use any longer, some golf courses still use them to achieve a better looking, more uniform cut.

This is JimIV and JimJr mowing grass in the back yard behind the house

The veggie garden can be seen behind the tractor on the left.

This is Princess Anne mowing grass in-between the house and the pool while she was staying with us during the summer of 2002.

The pool is 100 feet (30 meters) away from the back of the house.   I reasoned it would cut-down on anyone splashing water into my drink while I sat on the patio.
