Hi everyone!!!
Welcome to my rare monsters page! This is where you can either find some new
monsters in your FF3 pak or get some new rages for Gau! Remember, you have to fight
the monsters before they appear on the Veldt. Obviously, not all of these monsters
will be new to everyone, but most people haven't seen at least a few of them.
Here they are!
Intangir- On Triangle Island in the WoB. Use Doom on it for a quick 10 Magic Points!
Brachosaur- In Dinosaur Forest (north of the Veldt in the WoR). I'm warning you though, this guy is one of the toughest you'll find in the game. On the plus side, there is about a 1 in 5 chance of getting an Economizer when you defeat him!
Luridan- Located in the outside areas of Mt. Zozo.
Tomb Thumb, Anemone, Ceritops- In the upper part of Umaro's caves.
Drop- In the engine room of Figaro Castle.
Sp Forces- These are the guys that sit with Emporer Gestahl when you dine with him. When he asks if you need a break, say yes, and go talk to any one of them. They'll ask you if you'll spar with them for a couple minutes. Say yes, and show them how tough they really are.
Dark Side, Rinn, Spectre- These are the guys you fight if the Empire's security light in the Narshe caves catches you. You'll fight the Dark Side every time, but you may need to go back a few times before you can find the other two.
Hoover, Cactrot- These can both be found in the desert area right below Maranda in the WoR. Even though the Cactrot is the rare one, I figured I'd better mention them both. The Hoover is the opposite of its twin, the Zone Eater. Instead of sucking air in, it blows it out -- in the form of Sand Storm. He's super-tough. The Cactrot, on the other hand, is something.... different. It has nearly the fewest HP of any monster in the game (3), but its defenses are so good that you can only do 1 or 2 damage to him at a time, giving him a chance to run away. Its only attack dangerous to you is Blow Fish. The best way to beat it? Edgar's Drill. These two monsters are some of the best in the game for gathering GP, at 10000 each. The Cactrot is also worth 10 magic points.
EarthGuard, Peepers- These critters are found only on the Solitary Island, by Cid's house. The EarthGuards are only found in the desert area. These two DO have the fewest HP in the game (EarthGuards have 1, Peepers have 2). You can steal an Elixir from the Peepers and a Megalixir from the EarthGuard! The trick is, though, that they are seizured. That, combined with their low HP, comes to a very quick death for them, making it hard to steal. The way to get around this is to cast Stop on them, then have your fun.
