Alchemist's Dilemma
"I don't know, but I' been told
it's hard to run with the weight of gold;
on the other hand, I've heard it said
it's just as hard with the weight of lead."
---the Grateful Dead
Telepathic anarchism is a phrase not copyright.
I hereby renounce exclusivity of rights.
You must have heard it somewhere else first
like I did.
This is now officially a free phrase.
Anybody can use it any way they want to whenever they want.
Nobody will mind a bit, or try to charge you anything for it.
That's the way I did it, used it any way I wanted to.
I used it for a modicum of self-government,
realtime political expression historically recorded.
I propounded a thesis,
resolved,
Computer nets can be an instrument of self-government,
and challenged refutation.
Point taken, I elaborated:
The formality of government is the weak link in the
decision-making process.
Government is a ceremonial institution, with the purpose of coercion.
With everybody free to talk to everybody else,
human affairs should henceforth require a lot less coercion.
We may celebrate the abandonment of government
with a society that is permissive rather than restrictive.
You can ease up on the paranoia if you know everything.
People who think other people should be hurt
should drop from a majority to a minority.
Vindictiveness is ugly.
You shouldn't be able to hide that feeling behind a formal mask.
Law is the consensus of this instant.
What's past is history.
I lifted the word telepathy from its strict meaning
to denote rapid promulgation of opinion.
You can use the phrase any way you want.
I freed it.
