Archetypes Logged

The Raptor archetype is big right now.
That's like you were one of several birds of prey
whom people can't help admiring
despite dubious hygiene.
Eagle folk.
Adopted symbolically worldwide, all cultures.

Then there are the Wolf people.
They travel far and wide.
Furthermore, they got there quick.
We learned a lot of our early habits from them.

Fact is, we as a species are in so deep
a debt to the wolf people
in a matter of royalties we owe
on the concept of society,
they have representatives living with us
to ensure we don't welch and run off.
We got our primal ideals of how to get along,
pretty much from the canines.
They were the species easiest to watch.
So our society came from the dogs?

Yep. People are buzzards, as well as being eagles and owls.
Humans watching carrion pluckers learned theft.
That's been the big specialty of our species since.
People swipe shit.

We got the fundaments of cooperation right off the wolf pack.
We learned well enough to work the trick.

Archetypes.
Totemic animals.
A synthetic we came up with lately, last few millenia,
is the lycanthropic vampire bat.
The other animal species think it's kind of funny,
but representative of the decadence of our minds.
Well, a species that deliberately emulates the cruel raptor birds
can't be all right upstairs.
The vampire concept is the species superego
messaging what's wrong with worshipping eagles.

Bats are mammals, that's our own kind.
But the imaginary type of vampire bat
is just the evil shadow of an eagle.

Predatory birds get to kill and eat lots of meat,
but they don't develop much culture.
They may be genetically dinosaurs,
which puts them nowhere close to being on our side.
Playing the imagine game, you use archetype patterns a lot.
Life is more than genetics, it's the only game in town.
