The pictures that follow are of events and people which I don't know.
If you know them, please e-mail me. I put the pictures because they
represent a part of this place that is gone.

This was a funeral in Golden Meadow. Most of the buildings in this picture have been torn down.

The funeral is for Davis Doucet. He is a VIP. He served in the armed forces in World War II. He lost his life at the battle of Normandy. He was not the first person from Golden Meadow to be killed in the war but his body was the first that was returned to Golden Meadow for burial. (Notice the people walking on the sidewalk. They are going to the funeral. Women always wore hats to church and they have hats on.)

Mr. Doucet and two of his brothers were all in the service. Two of his brothers are walking next to the herse.

This is the Golden Meadow High School band!

The GMHS graduating class of ?. The party was at the Lafourche Cafe.

The attire is great. This must have been taken in the 40's.

On the back of the picture, they indicated they had spent some time in the country, possibly a vacation.

This is an oil rig in Golden Meadow. They used to have hundreds of them.
