Selecting the place and the facilities

The place where the birds are going to breed must have a good air circulation, avoiding draughts that are harmful for the breathing system of the birds. This circulation let a good renovation of the air, avoiding its saturation and avoiding in the case of the appearance of a disease its propagation through the air.

 Let lovebirds to have sunbaths, mainly in the morning. The sun is essential for the vitamin D synthesizing process, responsible for a good osseous formation.

 The roof of the place you have the lovebirds must have a good thermic insulator to avoid high temperatures inside the facilities, decreasing the humidity in the air. Acrylic tiles and tiles made of plastic make the environment too hot. Traditional tiles are excellent for this purpose. There is another kind of tiles perfect to keep a fresh environment.

 If you are going to breed outdoors be careful with cats and mice. Cats can injure the birds and can produce them stress.  A good solution is the collocation of double wire netting, so cats after a few attempts realize that they cannot reach the birds and they will leave them alone. Mice are a plague that is necessary to avoid, because they transmit diseases in contact with feeding-boxes and drinking places.
