It is quite an impossible task to sum up all the songs sung by the great Kishore Da. In his 36 years of musical career is sung roughly around 25,000 songs. He sung his first song under the baton of Khemchand Prakash, in 1948, for the film Ziddi. After that he sung many songs as a playback singer but the real glory came when he gave his voice to the superstar Rajesh Khanna for the film Aradhana. The songs Mere sapno ki rani kab aaegee too.., Roop tera mastana.. brought his career to new heights and he became the voice of the nation. He got the filmfare award for the best male playback singer for the song Roop tera mastana..in 1969. After that there was no looking back for him.
      His sudden death was a great shock for the music industry. According to the great composer R.D.Burman, "There was no charm left in the music without His voice." Kishore Da recorded his last song just before the day he died. It was a duet with Asha Bhosle which was being composed by Bappi Lahiri.
