Chink Jumping Spider - Holoplatys sp.

This is a large Jumping Spider. It hunts on gum tree trunk by jumping down to prey lands on the tree trunk.

The spider has a flattened brown abdomen that is an elongate oval shape. It hides and build retreat under loose barks.

We sometimes find this spider on smooth tree trunk in Eucalyptus forest.
