Stanwyck's first film in Cinemascope, shows her as an avaricious wife, a sort of Lady Macbeth of the Plains.
Robinson is the husband, Keith her lover and brother in law, Ford is along just for the ride in this better-than -average Western
Barbara followed up "executive Suite with  a frantic film in which she inavertently witness a murder and, in trying to convince the police, ends up in a psychiatric ward.
It was a film Barbara could easily have done without.
A highly improbable Technicolored adventure, where both Stanwyck and the the  Glacier National Park of Montana are well photographed.  Barbara did most of her stunt work herself and for her courage was adopted by the Blackfoot Indians, who had worked in the picture and had been impressed. She was given the the tribe 's most revered name: Princess Many Victories III. and  the braves of the tribe made her member of their Brave Dog Society.
