1965 Falcon Cayuse

Falcon Cayuse, is the brainchild of one of the top automotive sylists in the country, Vince Gardner. Vince headed an experimental design & styling section that offered a specialized service to Detroit Manufactures. The Cayuse was built as an experimental design. Vince dedicated approximately 750 hours to this project in the hopes that it might start a new trend for the future. Starting with a stock Falcon ragtop, Vince redesigned the front end, rear end & radiused the wheel wells. The asymmentrically designed (functional) air scoop lines up with a square section of the grille & a rear license plate mount. Vince utilized fiberglass for the hood and grille shell, while chromed steel bars were used for the front and rear grilles. All the stock chrome trim was discarded and the fuel filler was relocated inside the trunk compartment. The exterior was adorned with specially-mixed base coat clear coat Green Metallic, neatly setting off the polished aluminum wheels.
