A great entry for the Production Challenge

The second annual Production Challenge was run on Saturday 25 September, the day before the National Club Team Championship. The race is for 1/32 Super Production cars and attracted a great entry of 45 drivers. Many thanks to all at Pinewood Raceway for hosting the event, the excellent race control and catering were much appreciated.

There was even National radio coverage - a team from Radio 5 visited Pinewood interviewed some racers, tried a car (and looked pretty quick!) - it was broadcast as part of the Eamonn Holmes Saturday show.

Brian Saunders wins

After two sets of segmented qualifying heats, the top 6 took their places in the segmented finals. The top finalists on their starting lanes - Mark Harwood (y) Vince Lee (b) winner Brian Saunders (orange) James Cleave (g) Mike Crofts (white) and top qualifier Paul Harwood on red. Brian's car looked quick, and drove very well with hardly an off to be seen.

Will Stemman takes Division 1

The Division 1 final - Stan Alton, Dave Coward, Ian Barker, Stuart Watson, Will Stemman and Michael Ovens. Undoubtedly the star of qualifying was Michael, who was in the A final until some of the premier drivers improved on their second run. was at one. Will took an early lead from Dave, once Dave's gears went Will was left pulling away to win from from and Michael.

Davey Farrow wins Novice

The Novice final - Peter Dunn, Rob Harris, Franz Barillaro, Simon Francis, Mark Mayo and Davey Farrow. Davey led throughout, Simon led a close battle for second, initially from Mark and Franz but in the end Rob and Peter recoverd from their poor starts to take 3rd and 4th behind Simon.
