Well done B2 of BBM fame for choosing this one. Someone had informed my collegue that this was a good movie to rent from the video shop and B2 belived him, "I reckon this'll probably be an 8 or something" was B2's prediction. Woooops. After the first twenty minutes it was clear that this was not going to be an 8/9.5 film unless it got a heck of a lot better, a heck of a lot quicker. After about an hour and a half I had given up on it and resigned myself to the fact that I was watching yet another bad movie. After two and a half hours I wanted to kill myself. I had no idea what the movie was about before hand and if I had known I would have done everything in my power to stop B2 from getting it out, this was my first mistake, my second mistake was watching it to the bitter end. And if I had known that it was about one of the worst sports in the world then I wouldn't have bothered. I like Pacino, I like Diaz and I like James Woods but even these three couldn't do anything to make me like this movie. Like many of Oliver Stone's movies it is over long and has been widely critisised for being pretentious, I would also like to add that it is completely boring from start to finish and would recommend you not to watch this movie unless you really like football of the American variety or you are looking for a reason to end it all or you want something to be angry about. GRUNT, GRUNT, UGGHHH, AAAHHHGGGGGGG, EEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! Did I mention that this movie is a boring piece of shit? |
