The plot is the ultimate cliche - bad guy threatens to let loose a deadly virus and the goodie has to stop him before he can. In this case the deadly Chrimera virus is threated to be let loose so that Mr. Ambrose will make billions selling the cure after he has completed his plan and took over the company responsible for producing both viruses. Now if you want to piss and moan and say that it's just a bunch of explosions and action with a bad plot only suitable for complete knuckleheads then you can if you want but it does what it is supposed to, and that is to thouroughly entertain you for two hours. It's true that it wouldn't have been half the film if John Woo hadn't have brought to it his unique style and some of the most impressive action sequences for some time, the motorbike chase towards the end being the most notable and you also have to hand it to Tom Cruise who did most of his stunts himself as you will find out if you get the DVD version. It is better than the first Mission Impossible and if this is your bag then you will most definitely enjoy M:I-2 and I advise that you should get it on DVD because there are loads of excellent extras. And it's got a kick ass sound track to boot.
