Josh accidentally sends a tape of him and Beth shagging to his girlfriend in Austin and he and his mates have to go on a 1800 mile road trip to get the tape before she does. Tom Green is the narrator of the story and was in the film more than I was previously led to believe. He is giving a group of visitors the tour around Ithaca University and he ends up telling them the story of the road trip, and so the fact that we are given the story as Barry's version and with all his made up or exagerated bits put in, this in itself is pretty funny. I didn't think it would be any good before I watched it because I thought that it would just be the same as all the other similar crap that has been churned out over the past few years, with the same actors and the same unfunny jokes. To some extent it was exactly this but for some reason I liked this a whole lot more than the rest, I don't know why, maybe it was because Tom Green was in it, or maybe it was just because it was funnier, or maybe it was because the fact that Tom Green was in it made it funnier. I think the latter is probably the closest to the mark, but whatever it was I found it funnier and more entertaining than most similar films. It is though still complete trash and completely unoriginal, but worth getting out on video if you like this sort of stuff. |
