BORING!!!!!!!!!!! Was there any point in making this movie at all other than to cash in on the success of the original. Most of the film was like an extended episode of Columbo - one of those "made for T.V." films that you avoid at all costs. There were only small references to the original Exorcist movie and if they weren't included in the story it would have meant that the movie would probably have sunk without trace and would only be available for viewing on lame cable channels such as hmmm let me think....let's say Bravo or the Sci-Fi channel. Actually no, the Sci-Fi channel did show a couple of good films once. A lot of the scenes are too long, or they seemed to long because....well nothing happened in any of them and this contributed to a very slow paced and ultimately boring movie that I struggled to stay awake until the midnight conclusion of. George C. Snott looked like he was on the verge of death most of the time. The conclusion (ie. the last 20 minutes) were actually alright, there was a bit of supernatural stuff thrown in, but when I say alright this is obviously relative to the rest of the film. However, the 1hr 25 that you have to wait while the "plot develops" isn't worth submitting yourself to. The movie is only notable for a few cameo appearances that I totally missed when I was watching it, they must have occured on one of the many occasions when I was half way to losing the battle to keep my eyes open. Samuel L. Jackson, Larry King and Pat Ewing apparently all made fleeting appearances. Wow! |
