PART 21
Occupation of an Area or Place

In the tactic of occupation, the urban guerrilla seizes and remains temporarily in a specific building or place. This demonstrates urban guerrilla strength, or can be used for a specific propaganda purpose.

The occupation of factories and schools during strikes harrasses the enemy and enhances the protest of the masses.

The urban guerrilla occupies a radio or television station to issue propaganda.

Occupation is an effective tactic, but must be balanced with a good plan for retreat or withdrawal. Planning must be both meticulous and timely. Each occupation must have a time limit. The shorter the better.
