Histograms and Scatterplots

The position of the graphically represented keys can be found by moving your mouse on top of the graphic. 
The function keys do not count as a row. Hence, row 1 begins with the yellow shift key.

Turn your calculator on
Press The A C On Key: Row 5, Column 5.
Clearing the memory
Press The Menu Key: Row 1, Column 4. Arrow to the STAT menu and press The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5. The list screen will appear. Press The F 6 Key: Rightmost on the row of grey keys. (You should see a right arrow on the screen.) The F 4 Key: Fourth on the row of grey keys. (DEL-A, for delete all). The ever cautious calculator will ask you if you really mean it. Press The F 1 Key: First on the row of grey keys. for yes.
Clearing the Graph Screen

 

Entering data
one variable
Type in the first entry in your list and press The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5. Type in the rest of the list, pressing The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5 after each entry.
two variables
Type in the first x-value in your list and press The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5. Type in the rest of the x-values, pressing The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5 after each entry. Press The Right Arrow Key: Zero Degree Mark on the big grey circular button. Now type in all the y-values, pressing The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5 after each entry. Make sure the y-values correspond to the x-values they sit next to.

 

Drawing the Graphs 

Warning: Errors occur if the function register has functions in it. See above for instructions on how to clear the function register.

Scatterplot
  • Get into STAT mode and enter the data.
  • Press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top. (GRPH). You will see a new row of menu tags.
  • Press The F 6 Key: Last of the grey row of keys on top. (SET). This allows you to choose a type of graph. A new window will appear.
  • Press to get to Graph Type: Scatter. We want this so press The Exit Key: Row 2, Column 4. (If the Graph Type isn't Scatter, press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top..)
  • Press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top. (GPH1) to choose to display Graph1.
Histogram
  • Get into STAT mode and enter the data.
  • Press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top. (GRPH). You will see a new row of menu tags.
  • Press The F 6 Key: Last of the grey row of keys on top. (SET). This allows you to choose a type of graph. A new window will appear.
  • Press to get to Graph Type: Scatter.
  • Press The F 6 Key: Last of the grey row of keys on top. ( ) to get new menu tags.
  • Press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top. (HIST) for Histogram.
  • Press The Exit Key: Row 2, Column 4 to get back to the previous screen.
  • Press The F 1 Key: First of the grey row of keys on top. (GPH1) to choose to display Graph1. A window will open and tell you the start number of the graph and the width of the bars.
  • Press The E X E Key: Row 8, Column 5 to display the graph.
