Band Members :

Formed : Vancouver, BC in 1978

Reside : Vancouver, BC

Bio :

54-40 came out of Vancouver during the age of punk, and their early work shows it, lots of enthusiasm and talent. The band is socially active supporting many cuases including Artist Against Racism. The style of music has changes over the years, their initial work from albums like 'Show Me' and '54-40' was mellow as well as political. Later albums such as 'Smilin' Buddha Cabaret' were more in tune with their punk beginings. Their most recent album contains elements of both their early and later works.

Other Stuff : Their Name comes from the campaign slogan for James K. Polk who was running for president in 1884. He wanted to annex all of the territory from the 40th parallel to the 54th parallel, the comprimise was the 49th.

If have a copy of Dear Dear you'll notice that there is an extra track at the end it's apparently called 'Social Work'. Neil Osbourne's wife is a social worker.

Trused by Millions was produced by Steven Drake of the Odds
