3D model of 1-kestose

The image below shows the 3D model of 1-kestose. It is a ball on a stick model, where the dots represent the van der Waals radius. The van der Waals radius is normally used to make spacefilled models of molecules. From the left to the right you can see the two fructose units linked to a glucose. A computer program was used to minimize the energy of the molecule. So every atom was arranged in such a way, that they have a minimal repulsion from the other atoms in it's neighborhood.
