TBM Down Under

Randal McFarlane of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia owns and operates the only flyable TBM in the country. Here are some marvellous photos of his machine, "Plonky". For the record the registration is VH-TBM, Bureau No. 91110 and the date of manufacture is June 1945.

Since I added this page, Randal has had the TBM repainted and renamed. Behold the "Georgia Peach" in her new colours which represent a TBM on Torpedo 83 (VT-83) aboard the U.S.S. Essex in 1945. The Avenger is named for Randal's good lady wife who is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. (Hmm, I wonder how grits taste with Vegemite.) Sorry, I couldn't resist ;) Thanks again Randal for the photos!
