Call Waiting false disconnect tip: Attached an EMI filter (electromagnetic interference) to my phone line and have not had but one false interruption in about the last 12-14 online hours. This is different than an RF filter (radio frequency interference), although some might try both if the EMI filter doesn't cure it. You can purchase at a catalog called Hello Direct, 1800-444-3556, $28.95 with shipping (you will receive it next day). Radio Shack has an RF filter for $11.00, but I don't know if they sell an EMI filter. Try it, good luck! I hope I haven't given you all false hope!

A lot of us have more than one local server number programed in our units. The unit will always dial the same priority number first and if that's busy, it will call the other one/s. A lot of us don't have have a choice of which no. it calls, but if you have call waiting, you do have a choice. In the set up, set your unit for audible dialing. Now power it up and watch the bar closely. You will "see" the number it's calling on top of the bar for a few seconds just before it dials it and sends it's info.to the server. When the info is sent,it will be quiet and the bar will start to move up while it's trying to make connection. When the bar stops just before it actually connects, Take your phone off the hook to interrupt the call. Your unit will start over to call again but you will "see" it's the second number that it is calling. (You may bring things up a lot faster on this number) Give it a try.
