History: MLK was formed out of VUF (Youth League of the Left), the youth league of VPK. Within VUF surged several ultraleftist tendencies during the sixties, orientating it toward stalinism and maoism. VUF broke with VPK in 1968, and in 1970 they formed MLK. MLK was ideologically identical with the larger KFML/SKP. MLK suffered a large split in 1972 when a group under leadership of Anders Carlberg (had been the chairman of VUF, today social democrat) left MLK and formed Förbundet KOMMUNIST (League COMMUNIST). In 1981 in unified itself with SKP.
