I'm a retired electrical engineer interested in social justice and nature -- particularly mollusks (yes, sea shells). I have lived the American dream, with well-paying jobs, a wonderful family, and a happy retirement. I owe much to the U.S. But before coming to this country at age 16, I barely escaped the Holocaust, having been born a German Jew. This has given me first-hand and lifelong insight into tolerance and hatred, and a particular sensitivity to what is happening in Lancaster County these days.
