On Sunday 20th August 2000, when the constituencies comprising the Northern Zone of the UWP’s zonal administrative structure meet at the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, the process leading up to Convention 2000 will finally be activated.

Delegates representing the eight constituencies in the north of the Island, from Anse-la-Raye/Canaries to Gros Islet, will convene to receive Annual Constituency Reports and to prepare themselves for this years Annual Conference of Delegates which will be held at La Ressource, Dennery on Sunday 17th September 2000.

At Sunday’s meeting, Delegates will also receive two presentations, to be delivered by a Guest Speaker and a Party Official on:

(a)     Educational Financing to Small States – the risks involved, and

(b)    Institutionalising the Party’s zonal administrative structure.

Delegates will also receive and deliberate on a report of the Party’s position on the proposed constituency boundaries review and will examine the Party’s state of readiness for any eventuality, in its quest to have the present situation regarding the proposed boundaries review regularised.
