The Hague Appeal for Peace & HAP Youth Network The Hague Appeal for Peace 1999 marks the 100th anniversary of the First Hague International Peace Conference. Dedicated to the de-legitimization of war, the HAP will hold a peace and justice congress in The Hague, the Netherlands, from 11 - 16 May 1999. Our generation was born into one of the bloodiest centuries in history, and huge numbers of young people continue to be exposed to the horrors of war. That's why the Hague Appeal for Peace Youth Network is a central component of the campaign. We seek a world in which armed conflict is seen as fundamentally illegitimate and unjust, where the settlement of disputes is by just and peaceful means.
