UPDATE: I passed the written portion of the Foreign Service Exam! I've been invited back for the oral assessment on August 25. Check back here for updates!

Perhaps I should tell you a little about myself:
My name is James. I'm a graduate of Mary Washington College, with a B.A. in International Affairs. I recently completed an internship with the U.S. State Department (visit their web page below!), in the Foreign Service Institute, the branch of DoS that is responsible for training all U.S. Foreign Service Officers.

I took the Foreign Service Officer Exam on February 28, 1998, and passed the written exam. Unfortunately, I did not pass the oral exam, one of the last steps to becoming an FSO. I am currently looking for a position doing research or analysis of foreign policy. My career ambition is to go into the U.S. Foreign Service, and I'd love to become Secretary of State (or, even better, National Security Advisor) someday. Perhaps if I can get one of my friends elected President . . .
